Wild Insects

While all the prevailing news remains depressing, wildlife continues to operate, oblivious to the events which are affecting so many people's lives. The lanes are alive with flowers and attendant insects are emerging, semmingly in greater abundance than usual. Whilst this is almost certainly due to the fine weather but I can't help wondering if the lockdown might have environmentally positive effects. Time will tell. This Dark-edged Beefly is busy feeding with its long proboscis on Lesser Celendine.
