 Well here we are again, looking forward to another year ahead full of exciting activities. The past year has been once again full of great moments both in the UK on courses and workshops and of course overseas in countries as contrasting and Costa Rica and Namibia. More details of these activities can be found on this website. Both regulars and newcomers have joined us through the year, sharing unforgettable wildlife combined with great camaraderie – the key elements of a group trip.
All of our activities follow the popular Wild Insights ethos which is to enjoy and savour everything we see and not to rush around concerning ourselves with things we might have missed. We find this approach much more pleasurable and usually more successful than “target –driven” birdwatching. This ethos also extends to the ethical aspects of wildlife watching where, in our interests to see a species we avoid any techniques which might cause disturbance such as the use of sound lures.
Most importantly, it is your feedback which helps us to understand if we are getting it right. We read carefully your comments and suggestions and where possible do our best to incorporate them. Ultimately, the best measure of your approval is the continued support you give us. Typically, more than 95% of our overseas tours comprise people who have travelled with us previously and even in this most recent year of financial uncertainties we have continued to run 100% of our advertised events, most of which are full.
Nobody could have failed to see how the value of the pound has plummeted against the dollar and, in particular, the euro. The knock-on effect on our tours is substantial but as much as possible we have avoided attaching surcharges which in our view is a last resort. We have however had to be realistic in our pricing policy for 2010 and beyond. You have the reassurance that we will always maintain the best available standards of travel and accommodation.
Looking ahead, to give you as much advance notice as possible, we included the programme of events for 2010 at the back of the 2009 calendar. In the light of your response we added a second tour to our new destination for the year – Iceland. This promptly sold out. You may think that there is no chance of getting in on any of our 2010 tours and workshops but there are still some places here and there. Please check the website www.wildinsights.co.uk for the latest availability. Looking even further ahead you will see the range of 2011 activities which we announced back at Christmas.

We welcome newcomers and regulars alike and the friendly, inclusive atmosphere of our events means that nobody should feel alone.
